I’m unsure how widely this operation goes, it may just affect Australia and Europe, but thought I’d post this as a warning for anyone thinking of ordering from this company – Anglo Pacific Trading/Bronzemoon Outdoors. Their website advertises a large range of knives, but they appear to be either staggeringly incompetent or operating some form of scam.

I ordered a number of items from them over a month ago, but nothing arrived. When I contacted the company by email, I did not receive a reply. Eventually, they told me that my order was in transit. My requests for more information were ignored.

I then did some rudimentary investigating, which I should really have done before, and found these two sites:

https://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/bronzemoonoutdoors.co.uk

http://www.productreview.com.au/p/bronze-moon-outdoor.html

There are pages and pages of reviews like the examples below:

Sarcastic email replies [if they reply at all], disconnected phone numbers, ridiculous delivery times, and a company that seems to be a sham if you do some research are all reasons why not to use this rubbish company! Ask a question and get refered to their FAQ which are no help.i ordered 2 knives on 5th of November 2014, today is 20th of December 2014 no deliver ETA no goods. Order status magical ly changed from "pending" to "completed" not long after backcharge threatened and replies have dried up. Seams that everything is a stalling tactic to keep your money!

Stay away plain and simple.Do not give these guys your money, they do not deserve it. After 9 weeks have only recieved part of my order and have recieved no helpful replies to my inquiries as to when i can expect it. If you have had an issue with them report it to your government deartment. The more complaints they get maybe they will do something about this companies misleading web site.

I ordered a TOPS BOB survival knife more than 8 week's ago, I am now going to start action with the Commerce Onbudsman. To review this so called business is one word it would be "Scammers"

My wife purchased a knife for my birthday from bronze moon in january 2014. We are still waiting for it to arrive after 9 months!!. No phone number. Do not reply to our multiple email requests for a refund. It states on their website that after 6 weeks we can get a refund.
We want our money back you thieving people!

After reading some of these comments, I contacted the company asking for a refund and threatening to report them to SagePay and the UK Trading Standards Authority. Typically, I received a rude and sarcastic e-mail back saying that they had not been able to deliver (I use a mailing service whose office is staffed 7 days a week) and that they had already refunded my money. I have not received any refund at all, and it seems will have to take further action to try and recover my money.

Like many of the reviewers on the sites linked to above, I can reach no other conclusion than that this is some form of scam, and I would strongly recommend that you give this company a very wide berth if you come across them.

I ordered some stuff from their Australian site. Had a similar experience and eventually demanded a refund. They stalled me but the funny thing was the goods eventually turned up and they were just as advertised. Not a total scam but I would never deal with them again.

The UK trading standards agency and, their off shoots, are basically totally useless, they can do nothing and people that are playing the game like that know how to skirt them anyway. You need to jump through a couple of hoops and get to the small claims court. I have bitter experience in this sort of thing....if you're dealing with scams from outside the UK then the news is even worse. :p

Glad you eventually got your stuff

That's what I suspected. I'm initially going to contact SagePay, but I'm sure they've already had numerous complaints about this firm, and they are probably only using SagePay because they've already had difficulties with PayPal. I think it's going to be a lot of hassle just to get my back back.

There seems to be nothing but spectacularly bad reviews about this company on the internet, all following a similar pattern.

From: http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile(bronzemoon-outdoors)_485811.htm

I have just had a most unpleasant experience with this vendor. I have ordered two items and only one has arrived, so I chased their email support team. I was told my order was complete. I threatened to contact my bank and accused them of fraud. In response, they thanked me for 'a barrage of silly emails' and told me 'they don't deal with people of my caliber'.
I am absolutely speechless. I have never been insulted by an internet vendor before - and all just for trying to get my money back!
Needless to say I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

HOW ARE THESE CROOKS STILL IN BUSINESS????!!!!

Ordered over 6 weeks ago - money was taken straightaway but have not received goods nor any response to communications. Internet searches soon reveal they have several guises across several continents with no real addresses or stock of goods anywhere.
Pretty much nothing but deceit, dishonesty and atrocious/non-existent service.
This operation cannot be legal surely ? Currently reporting / investigating with small claims court, trading standards and others. Even my MP is interested enough to come into the fray.
Fortunately I paid by credit card so should be able to claim back via UK chargeback scheme, but shouldn't even be in this position in the first place.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Do not buy anything from this company or anglo pacific. I prepaid over £200 for an item 3 months ago and it still hasn't arrived. I had to reclaim my cash back from my credit card company and have reported them to trading standards for fraudulent trading. Update: Ended up going through the small claims court, really easy to do online for just £25. I had a few bull e-mails from them saying they had tried to refund my cash blah blah blah and that their legal team were reviewing the case. After the case was filed with the court my cash appeared :) They are a bunch of drop shipping cowboys with nothing more than a fancy website. BE VERY WARY

The good news is that I got my money back from this company, but I wish I'd never had any contact with them.

Mate I'm sorry to hear you had such a rotten experience and good work getting your money back. Looks like an Australian company, which makes my blood boil. It does however mean they can be held accountable. When I have cleared the pile of baby stuff off my laptop I'll do some digging and if I can I will put a notification in with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. It may or may not result in anything but it can't hurt. And let's keep this thread alive for a while hey.

Thanks a lot Chris, I got your PM and really appreciate the help mate

Wish id read here before placing an order.

Only 50, but its the principal!

I've never done the court/small claims route - is it worth it?

Btw - I'm in Australia

Have just sent this email....will see what happens.

"Good afternoon Claire

Please respond to my multiple requests for an update on expected delivery of Nemesis Hellion (non serrated) ordered and paid for on Friday 6th February.

I confirm that at no time prior or during the ordering/payment process was I advised by you or your website that this product was not in stock.

It was not until my subsequent enquiry did you indicate that the product was ‘awaiting re-stocks’.

If you are not able to provide a satisfactory response to my questions by the end of business today I shall assume you have abandoned this order. In that case I would require a full refund to my nominated bank account by close of business Friday 20 February 2015.

A failure to respond to this email is acknowledgment of your acceptance of above and agreement to refund monies as described.

Regards,"

Good luck with getting your money back from these crooks
