Warning: bad language. I'm so pissed right now I can't even think straight

Wow! Just WoW! I remember when something like this happened to Jake (j williams) and all he did was come to rant on the WSS board. It seemed like in no time (just like here) people were going nuts sending him stuff to replace everything.

I myself had my first RAT knife (a RC-4) get nabbed from the mail box. I got on the WSS board to rant and within minutes (if I remember right) I had people posting that they wanted to chip in to buy me another. Then, before that went too far, Derrick from knivesshipfree.com (where I ordered the first knife from) stepped up and said, even though there was a delivery confirmation from the USPS, he would ship me another asap. PURE customer service I tell ya.

The BladeForums folks have amazed me over and over again. It truly is one big family.

God bless you all!!

This is absolutely an incredible act of kindness, one of, if not the best I`ve ever seen or read about.

Yes, my 1st post here. I am a folder fan of 20+ years, and tonight figured, why not, get a fixed blade. My few hours of reading info on fixed blades on BF brought me here. I think I found the right place.

An Izula with kit will be en-route soon. I fear this will be a gateway to a terrible trend of more fixed Rats than I had planned on.

Thumbs up to all of you!

Cheers,
Dave

PM your addy again and Swiss bag will be inbound via UPS,it was the laptop type black messenger bag thingy Swiss Army from Target nice bag & It is yours !

I don't know you texastonydobbs, but you are a generous person. That is pretty cool, what you are doing.

Wow, I don't know how I missed seeing this thread before now. Dylside, I know I'm coming into this rather late, but if there's anything else you need, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do, I've got a fair amount of extras sitting around that need a good home.

As for all the generosity, what can I say? RAT has, hands down, the best community of people of any knife company out there. It's truly a pleasure to be part of the family. I know I've said that a million times in other threads, but it's the truth. There's no better group of guys in the knife community. I'm really hoping to get to the Blade Show this year, so I can meet some of you guys in person, but I'm not sure yet if I can make it. It would be truly a pleasure to share a few drinks with all of you after the show.

i rememeber when i had my knife kit for work stolen ... i was at my watering whole and the bartender stashed it in a cubby on one end of the horse shoe bar for me ... low and behold at 4 am when me and my bartender friend were leaving ( last call is at 1:30 2:00 here but sometimes it pays to be charming) and alas my kit was gone ... it had taken me roughly 5 years to get all the gadgets and random stuff that was in that kit collected ... total value of the knives alone (i use globals ... for a professional kitchen i haven't found anything that performs on even close to the same level, with as little maintnence and such a friendly price ) was probably close to 800 - 900 dollars and atleast another 200 for random gadgets spatulas etc ... i think the biggest loss out of the whole deal was that i had a note book that had about 8 years worth of dish concepts and my own personal recipes that i wrote ... i know that notebook just ended up in the trash too ... it still irks me when i think about that

It was truly great to see everyone comming together to help a fellow RAT nut out. And I think each of us have had a knife or kit go missing at one point or another, or can appriecate how awful it would be. I have gotten to the point now where my kit isnt out of arms each... ever. I just simply could not afford to replace it.

Anyways, this whole thread is a shining example of what the "community" part of the forums stands for.

Oh Jebus bro. lol. NO MORE KIT! hahaha. My Kit now looks like a woman's purse who is going on a weekend trip and wasn't allowed to bring anything but her purse. I got pictures last night, but didn't have my thumb drive to laod them to in order to bring them to work, where I have a computer that will connect to the internet. I'll take my thumb drive home tonight and transfer them over and post them up tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that this kit was used to construct Robocop.

Haha, ok. I kinda figured that would be the case, but I wanted to ask just to make sure. Looking forward to seeing the pics!

ya cant leave ANYTHING in your truck or car, simply put it WILL get stolen. I have had my truck windows smashed so cracky could steal a 5 cent popcan. They dont care if you worked hard for the gear, to them its stuff to be sold for drugs. Its their next hit.

glad to hear you got a new bag and blade and gear! awesome community :)
That really scares me. I live in a neighborhood that is considered "excellent", and on the border of one that's considered the "best urban village in United States". There's at least 1 BMW for every 2 Nissans around here, parked on the street. Yet this fall someone broke the window on my '98 Camry and rummaged through the storage, stealing my GPS (but leaving my Leatherman Wave)... of course breaking the lid of the armrest compartment... and didn't even have the decency to break the window properly - they wedged something under the glass until it cracked, then pushed the whole thing inside, leaving me with a damaged frame in addition to the broken window.

Through some help from my parents, I now have a different, luxury car from 2006 (unrelated to the damage), but I am afraid to park it on the street, because it would only take 5 minutes for someone to cause enough damage to it that it would take me a year to earn enough to repair it.

After this thread started,I promptly removed my PSK from my vehichle...I made up one from a Maxpedition M-5 and now carry that little booger in the truck instead of a devil dog full of gear.
