WARNING!!!!!!. . . BLADE West HOGs!!! . . . Garth & Waz Are Headin' Your Way!!!!

Fantastic news!
I am extra stoked for my Portland trip now! Not to mention, the girlfriend looks like she's bailing so....none of that irrational, "you're spending too much money"/"you don't need another knife" nonsense in my ear.

RE: PROXY REQUESTS

What is involved in acting as someones Proxy? Whats the the procedure?

There might be some formal procedure, but I'm guessing someone would give the proxy a spending limit, or a specific knife to look for and would probably secure the funds prior to heading to the show. Thats what I would do anyway. Like paypal someone ahead of time. I dont know... anyone else?

Jerry...The Nuclear Seahorse better be there!! :D I have a credit card with its name all over it!

Jerry, I'm waiting for the teaser pics, but I'm thinking I'm going to need a proxy on this one. Anyone?

I hope it isn't the bushwacker because I would love one of those and I'm stuck working in AZ that whole week.

Judging from the way the boss is talking (old school, etc.) I'd bet that it IS the Bushwacker.

That would be soooo cruel. What's happened in the past when a knife is introduced at a show? Is it available later through Busse for the rest of us?

I could do whatever you wanted really. It would be hard to tell you what I wanted since there are apparently some "unknown" blades that will be there but I think it would be easier to be on the phone as you are looking at the blades and then send funds via PayPal or another quick method with a little bonus for the help.

PM on it's way.

There is not a formal procedure, the parties work out the details for themselves. Obviously, it is based on trust, which can put new guys at a bit of a disadvantage, as they may not yet have established a reputation as a solid citizen here. I have been on both sides of proxy deals, and money has never changed hands in advance. YMMV.

Being the new guy always sucks... I just figured being new to the forum, I'd extend the trust of giving the proxy money up front... It could go both ways really. I'd love someone to snag me a specific knife, trusting I'd pay them if and when they made the purchase. But...

No simple answer. Some knives were show-only specials. So it goes. Nobody said life was fair, especially at the Trough.
