Warning Canadian Customs.

thats what i'm thinking but it was canadian customs that opened the box. over the years my aunt has sent all kinds of packages with anything from home made cookies to smoked meats without a single problem. i think you are right about it being a peta type person. the person i talked to was rude and had an attitude. i told them i think they were the idiot that done the damage and where they could go and what they could do in a not so polite way before hanging up.

They probably cut that hat up with a stolen knife.

I'd like to nominate Canadian Customs to the hall of shame,if it hasn't been done already.

There's too many threads like this. There should be a way to go over their head.

Believe it or not there are some decent people that work for Canada Customs, but you never hear about them because the actions of the a-holes get all the attention.
It's not only non Canadians that have troubles with them, during the height of the cigarette smuggling in western Quebec and eastern Ontario, I went to Massena NY to do a little shopping. While over there I ran out of smokes so I bought a pack. On the way home I declared everything I had purchased including the cigarettes. Because the pack was opened the customs officer charged me duty on each cigarette but let everything else go. The bill on the smokes was $35 after duty and GST. He then gave me a lecture on how that should teach me not to smuggle smokes into Canada:confused:. I wasn't smuggling anything I declared the package up front, showed all my receipts, including for the pack of smokes. The guy was a major butt head on a power trip:mad:

luckily we never had any problems with canadian customs when traveling except 1 time in the late 60's. we had a large cabinet stereo system and they wanted to check it out just to make sure nothing was stashed inside. they had my dad remove the back cover so they could look inside. once they did he put the cover on and we were on our way.

I haven't had problems with CC personally (touch wood) but they inspect my samples when I cross to the US and back. I have been turned back from the US because my sample blades were too mean looking!
