WARNING: GRAPHIC PIC! Cold steel lock failure! It cut off my finger!!!

I knew this was a joke cause it was a cold steel knife that you said had failed LOL..

Well, it's past midnight here, so it's no longer April 1st.

No, I didn't cut my damn finger off. I find it funny that some of you really did think I was serious, or at least weren't sure if it was an April Fools gag or not.

pretty decent photoshop skillz

Wonder if that's photoshopped or someone's actual pic.

good photoshop job....

No photoshop. Apart from the pic of the knife, those are just pics I pulled off the internet. I cropped one of them, but otherwise they're unedited. The first pic looks to me like it's actually part of a dashboard, not an external body panel. The 3rd pic was apparently from a BB gun.

I kind of want to know what the name of that Cold Steel slipjoint is.
Any idea?

The model is a Jr. Stockman. 3 3/8" closed. They made a large one as well; not sure of the length on that one. It's quite a bit stouter than any other small stockman I've seen. Typically the spay/pen and sheepsfoot blade are from thinner stock than the main clip, but on this CS, they're the same thickness. The knife was actually made by Camillus (as were all of the Carbon V knives) before they closed down in 2007. If you compare it to older Buck 303s and some Sears Craftsman knives, you can see that they're all very similar, because they were all made by Camillus. It's the only Cold Steel knife I own (actually, I don't own the knife in the picture anymore - I sold it, but I have another).

I lost the tip of my right index finger.

Only about half-way down the fingernail, so it was able to be sewn back on, but that was the worst couple of months ever, not being able to pick my nose.

Thanks for the laugh. Do we get to call you "stumpy" now?

Actually, my left pinky finger is about 3/8" shorter than my right one because when I was 8 my brother closed our bedroom door on it. Popped the tip right off, and there wasn't enough to sew back on. It grew back pretty well, and it looks mostly normal (I have to point out the length and slight difference in the fingernail, or nobody would ever notice). Full feeling in it too, although when I was much younger, sometimes I would be typing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa because I didn't feel the pressure on the keyboard. I'd take a picture and show it, but I don't have 3 hands.

Im guessing you were wearing your Lynn Thompson edition short shorts, they made you so fast and aerodynamic that you lost control.

I knew it was a joke when you said "Cold Stee" and "lock failure" in the same sentence. Obviously, only na act of God could have done that.

-_-.................to be fair I wasn't paying attention and I've got alot going on right now...lol...that's not funny man...making people think you cut off your finger. Well, actually, it's funny.

Cutting your finger off acting like a fool could actually be funny, sort of... (April fool ? What a fool I am and what an incredible asshole you are, aren't you ?)
Just saying... I wish you the best recovery and/or some time thinking about the kind of dedication you have for knives.
Using a blade means you should just be acting like a man, as good as you can be. Think of it.
And that's all of it.
Only love.

Haha whole crap man that's a good 1...... I have to laugh because I HAVE done this but on a POS fixed blade... Never a fun day haha

Yup it's the smaller version of this knife.

I wish I could have gotten it in carbon though! Still, 10 bucks isn't bad. Camillus sold them as straight cut tobacco knives. Afaik they can still be found occasionally on eBay.

That's really good stuff - had me going till I realized the date (and the pic of the slippie), great severed finger pic though

What is the post date of the first post in this thread? I'm not trying to get on your case, I'm just saying that being new sometimes means you don't pick up on a lot of the small nuances that really shape the meaning of the thing. I'm just trying to point one out.

thank you kindly Sir. yes indeed i saw it was on april fools day before I made my comment..i was just commenting on the funny statement made by CS that they have the worlds sharpest and strongest blades.i own 4 [so far] and also own several dozen other blades as well.
I am sorry if I came off as disrespectful,i was just voicing my mind.

Don't worry about it. Personally I'm glad you commented because it bumped this thread back up to page 1. I had missed it when it was originally posted.

Bump, just to see how many people are new/gullible/can't read OP date.
