Warning Possible F. Dick Envy, The sharpeneing steel type you pervs.

Cool find!

Unrelated, but with all those mold patches I hope you have a mask on when you are working up there. I had a bad bout a couple years ago after extensive exposure to mold spores. Wasn't pleasant. :grumpy:

i'll take a hand over dick any time

I was actually lucky to get the hand american set I have since their websites been kaputz for so long. I havent seen much if any reference to them, and upon lookin I can't find them being sold anywhere. the steel is half polish/smooth, half light grooved, and somewhere between 67-69rc (i think, it's been a long time since I got it and read the website). the ceramic rod is finished at around 600 git, and the edge of it's leather sheath is loaded with chromium oxide. I tend to steel it out and then go directly to the sheath edge, and it's result is excellent.

i really wish I would have grabbed one of their 5" steels when they were up. fantastic for backpacking.

hand american even has more variety then dicks, they had 5", 7", 9" and 12" models :D

I don't think I had a program here other than a bit of fun. ;)

I cleaned my old Dick a little while ago. "Kroil" got out lots of metal particles and gave me extended Dick life!

ya, but can you guys use your dicks as bludgeoning devices?

Alright guys, enough of the phallic humor, I have already gotten a complaint from one of our female members who is not easily swayed, so it has gone too far.

Nice find Tony and that attic is scary man!

Does anyone know how to go about buying one these from either a local (Tony/San Fran) dealer or on the web. Doesn't appear to be any sales on the Dick Steel website and I can't find any place on the web that carries them.

In the finding of cool stuff area it helps when the house has been in the family for over 100 years. And everyone had dumped their junk there for the past 70. I know there are news papers there -somewhere- from the 1860's. I saw them about 10-15 years ago and figured that if they had been OK there for 130 years there was no better place to keep them. I just wish I remember where that was :o :o

Who knows what I'll find in this other half.
I just hope it is all dead

Looks like I've got about 95 years to wait.

Oh well, I guess the great-grandkids will experience that bonanza.

Progunner,
My dad got that place from his aunt in 1955. So as a young boy I was pretty much raised in that attic. But it didn’t affect my mind.... much.

Who knows what I'll find on the other side

So far you can see from the photo that there are some stirrups in there and one might think there could be a whip in the mix.

Can’t cause much trouble with them… right?

.
