Warning, sandy jeans!!!

You're absolutely correct. "Ruined" was a poor choice of words. I'm not sure what the right word is. Whatever the word is for putting your brand new Tony Bose one-of-a-kind custom in your pocket
The word you were looking for is "used". As soon as you do anything with a brand new anything, it becomes used. Not ruined, just used.

"Aged" might be even better. I put a used knife in my pocket and in a couple of hours it transformed the overall appearance and feel of the knife. Taking the sheen off the ebony and buffing up the bolsters for me. It got some accelerated "Use-aged":D. Although it wouldn't of been the end of the world I am glad that I didn't open the knife until I got all that grit out of the liners and off the tang of the blades.

From my understanding it’s what they use to give jeans that stone/washed out look .
I noticed it to when it was gettimg in my wallet and I was like WTF !! LoL

Remember getting new jeans you could not wear until they were washed, stood up by themselves they were so stiff.
You didn't necessarily need to wash then first. You could wear them in a downpour, instead ...
But yeah, I remember the starched blue jeans ... and the patches when they "got religion" and became holey.
And, let us not forget how the first few times they went through the wash they turned everything bluish ... kinda like a red rag turns everything pink.:p:D

It just so happens I went to the Walmart this afternoon to get groceries and decided to go by and see if I could find any of their wrangler jeans that are not the new seven belt loop design. I like the five loop design because the other additional loops get in the way of the placement of the holsters and sheaths that I wear. They didn't have any of the dark blue ones that I typically buy but they had these pre-washed on sale for $11 and I couldn't pass that up.. As I tried them on after I got home and reached into the pocket I found something I thought was just wadded up paper but as I looked closer at it it is a small pebble of what I assume is pumice. I thought how crazy is that..... I have to take a pic of it. And they had a pair of the old "classic" wrangler jeans that somehow made it to that store that will almost stand up by themselves.:DIMG_4132.JPG IMG_4133.PNG

Oh yes I left a white handkerchief in a pair of new jeans and it came out nice and blue! Several years later I was Groomsman at a Wedding and the bride needed something borrowed and some thing blue and that hankie saved the day!
