Warrantee replacement for TGLB appears to be flawed as well.

My question is, is the grind uneven or is the last bit near the handle just not ground down as far? If you were to move the blade off the table a bit is the rest of the blade straight?

Any Busse I get with a sloppy grind, I just sell to M67......he thinks its cool when the grind is off. :D

On a serious note....I know what you mean...."unintentional recurve" is what I call what you are showing.....I am picky and notice stuff like that too....sometimes it bothers me, sometimes not.....but I'm 100% sure you can keep sending it back until you are satisfied.

Jerry,
I tend to be a little obsessive about relatively large ticket items and I honestly didn't post here to vent... I really wanted to get other people's opinion about whether I was making something out of nothing. Sending the knife back and forth over the border is a real PITA and I don't want to go through that again if it's not worth it. My only concern about the edge of the knife not being straight is that it might make it problematic to sharpen.

A couple of observations...

In your shoes, if I am not satisfied, I would email the Shop (again) to inform them that the edge has an issue. I understand that this is a replacement. Also, there is a way to ship replacements/repaired knives to avoid you having to repay the customs duty. I forget what the description has to be...something like "repaired under warranty" or something to that effect. If you can, I would suggest calling them if it won't cost you a bunch... Maybe they have Skype??? (I don't know, and suggest emailing Lexi or Pokey to ask) ...And explain the issue, including the extra customs fees you paid for your replacement. Busse does go out of their way to satisfy the customer, and I ask that you give them another chance. :)

Sorry to hear about your troubles on this.

Putting "warrantee repair" on the box is an obvious given and, when I let them know that this hadn't been done, they offered me a shop credit. A shop credit really doesn't do me much good because I won't be buying another knife (mostly because I can't afford too). Now I'm going to have to go through a whole song and dance with customs to get my money back.
I've got more than my share of real problems to deal with and I guess it's time to just cut my losses and forget about this relatively trivial issue.

...So you no longer wish to get this issue on your knife remedied and to you it is now "relatively trivial"?
Does this mean that this thread has run its course and does not need to continue on?

If it's not made out of INFI and the grind is off, I find it unique and I'll try and nab it. If the grind is off and it's made out of INFI, then just add a Custom Shop logo and you're GTG  :D

On a serious note though, Busse will take care of you. Or just beat the ever loving hell out of it then send it in for work. Either way, they WILL take care of you.

You can get a blade that crooked from Lots of places for $7.99 or less. Heck it's not a custom, so why buy some junker to beat on?

Seriously? This is what $300+ gets you? Why the Gerber hate?

I plan to buy more, if you can get it transferable Ill buy the credit off of you and you can use it towards S&H or whatever you need. Just a drunken thought.

Eitherway, if you decide to send it back, beat the crap out of it first, this often helps one to look over minor things and appreciate it for what it is,,,, a bad arss tool! You may reconsider sending it in.

But even if you do, use the credit towards a recoat or something. Even after you beat it they will re-sharpen it to your liking for $0. Just another drunken thought (I get lots of thems :p)

Get er dun!!!!

Its a junker because of what the OP posted? Hahaha.
The OP could baton it through a gerber and send it in afterwards and Busse would still make it right if need be despite the abusers stupidity. Its a killer knife as is, Ill happily buy it if you need to sell it OP just lock her down and email me.

I thought the 'recurve' was an intentional part of the design. My old school TG had the same, I thought it was cool. My Boss Jack had a very similar recurve and I read that other BJs did as well. I'm not sure its a flaw as such.

Either way I'm sure the Busse peeps will help you find a solution

Seriously? Is this helpful in any way? Go play with your Gerbers...or your $7.99 knives.
