Warren Thomas "Frequent Flyer"

Just recieved a Warren Thomas "Frequent Flyer" all Ti folder from Knifeart. Go to http://www.knifeart.com for pics. This is one lt wt and beautifully constructed folder. The Spiderco hole is as easy as any manual to open. The right side handle also provides the blade lock in a very unique manor that is not evident until you personnaly examine one of his knives. There are no liners! This makes for a very lt wt package. I do not know how durable the Ti-carbide coating on the blade edge will be. Anyone have any experience with this type of blade? The blade is left side grind and the addition of the holes to the handle and blade are useful and artistic. I have # 11 of 25. I don't know how many Knifeart has left.

Hi budrichard. Is'nt the lock an intregal liner lock like the Sebenza? Is it smooth opening, and where does the pocket clip face tip up or down?

I guess you could call it an integral liner lock. I have no familiarity with Reeve knives. The opening and closing are very smooth on this particular knife and the tip rides "tip down".

Hi budrichard- Are you able to post pictures ?? I've seen the picture on Knifeart but I'd like to see some other pictures, say the liner and stuff like that ??

Thanks, Donald

Just asking because I was thinking of getting one !!

I'm still working with an M3 Leica and maunual Nikon! A holdover from my photojournalist days so I can not post. The knife does not have any liners! The side of the right handle is split and not attached near the pivit point and this piece becomes the lock! That is why all his knives have a longitudinal cut in the right side. Very simple and effective.
Will try to find an e-camera and post a pic.

That is one nice looking knife. I have never owned a knife with a ti blade, but there is always a first time.

Keith.

I just got one of these knives. Beautiful, functional, and very sharp! Very carryable.

The lock is an integral lock like the Reeve Sebenza lock. What more can you ask for? Perhaps a carbon fiber/ti version?
