I don't think you're going to get the positive response you're hoping for from here. BF members in general don't look highly upon knock offs. Save your money and get the real thing, you will nearly always be more pleased.

As an aside click on the link off to the right for the "To the Point" magazine. There is an article there on knockoffs that should answer why most BF members don't like knockoffs. Some of it is because we like the quality of the real things and it also hurts the industry as a whole. Read the article to find the reasoning.

It's not just altruism that makes us avoid buying knockoffs. A company that's unethical enough to cheat the designer of a knife by making a knockoff is unethical enough to cheat their customers by making a shoddy piece of junk that isn't worth the small price they charge for it -- you can bet on it. There are low-buck knives on the market that are good value for the money, but they're not knockoffs of anything.

There's a current thread running in the Blade Discussion Forum about good cheap knives. You'll notice not one knockoff has been nominated.

i have had okay knock offs in the past but nothing really good. exept for a spyderco knock off that had some really good german steel in it. my interest in a knock off is so i have one like the original to abuse.
my interest in a sebenza knock off(my other knock off post.) is so i can have something that looks like the real thing to impress my friends and enemys until i can afford a real one.

I have a Al Mar Warrior knock off as well as the the Hobbit from rekat. To me its simply a case of you get what you pay for. In the hobbit from rekat that means
1. ATS-34 perfectly heat treated and cryo temp
2. black coated tefflon
3 great kydex sheath and funtional clip
4 light weight and super fast in the hand
5 supersoft handle that is comfortable in -20
6 rekat standing behind there product

With the knock off here is what you get
1 stainless 440 steel probabliy 440a
2.questionable heat treatment
3 heavy knife slow in the hand/
4 cheap thin leather sheath that configures the draw for a forward grip not reverse
5 no company standing behind there product
they rarely in mark there name

Not to mentioned thast they basicly rip off someone else idea hard work and artistical skill and give nothing in return .
I got my knock off in a trade at a riddle before I even knew that the warrior was around.

So I learned my lesson on many levels about knock off and would never get another one

IF SOME PEOPLE HAD AN ORIGINAL IDEA THERE HEADS WOULD EXPLODE
