Had a bad experience with one of those at a gun show a couple years ago. Another one of those let me sharpen your knife advances. It was a nice CASEXX bowie and when the guy was done with it I could not tell that it was any more sharp, but I could tell that it was scratched up to hell about 1/4" along the whole cutting edge. I guess if you tape the blade you may be alright though I would say it will be hard to tape right to the edge without taping to far.
