I have used warthog tusks on occasion. I buy them from a company called African Knife Handle Supply. The price is from $20 to $40 and the tusks come polished. They are not too hard to work with in my opinion. I have used them whole on stick tang knives and a push dagger and have split them to use as handle scales on folders and other knives. As with all ivory, work the material slowly with sharp belts to minimize heat build up.
