, a thread like that has to run on the 'honour system'. If an individual doesn't get that, and ignores a request to adhere to the rules of the thread, there aren't many options for an ordinary poster, however angry or saddened they may be by such behaviour. Thanks meako for recapturing time 
I was assembling my 2018 picture(s) one of them all and one of the chosen one
but a combination of Arctic dark and Jack taking offence and locking the thread capsized the project
Anyway, the Forum Knife is still in Customs and I won't now get it until 2nd or 3rd of Jan which goes beyond all time
Lot of generosity this year, won a GAW moreover, was sent knives unsolicited as presents from very kind members of the Forum. There were a couple of disappointing expensive knives I bought, we all learn-possibly
But My Knife of the Year Year was a present from @ISKRA in Slovenia, a wonderful 70s CASE Half Whittler Penknife. I was very moved and pleased to get this from Žan and I carry it a lot but will not patina it, pristine carry

Seems to me we should just ignore the unruly one, not shut the whole thing down. Especially since I've been waiting for the end of the year, and working on this post, as I'm sure I'm not alone there.
2018 was another great knife year. Starting (for me) with the GEC 78's.
Not quite Knife of the year though.
Honorable mention to this 14 in Black canvas that was a thoughtful, timely gift from a very generous friend here.
With the help of another friend, I was able to add a 25 drop point that had eluded me for years.
How could one talk of KOTY without mentioning the 77 NF Barlows? The whole lottery thing kinda soured it for me though.
These two 85's come close...Again, more help from friends here.
The 2018 forum knife really surprised me how much I like them. I will call them the runner-up.
But, the coveted "Knife of the Year 2018" award has to go to:
Drum roll......l.l.l.l.l.l.l.l
The Lionsteel Barlow in Rams horn. Blew everything else out of the water for me.

Mark, that dark Ram's Horn is not from this world I was certainly surprised and very impressed by the Blonde one I got from the Exchange, the whole knife astounded me as I was not at all interested in the project when launched. How wrong I was and how I like admitting it
Not only excellence in F&F great modern materials, tough yet beautiful and mated to a traditional material. It is sturdy yet it's quite light and a comfortable carry.Great choice, if you ever tire of those Dark Rams....

and dont get me started on those smug rich dudes with their barbershop quartet song.....so well drawn ,so compellingly awful ...possibly makes my top ten funniest scenes like evvah.
