Was looking for a new knife and ended up getting a Spyderco Centofante 3 in with FRN handle and VG-10 blade. Took me about 40 minutes looking at different knives from Kershaw, Benchmade and Spyderco before settling on the Centofante. It was either that or a Native FRN plain edge. Spent at least 8 minutes fondling and opening both before my friend and I desided the Centofante in FRN would make a better slicer in the kitchen so I got it. Was hard not to take the Native home to thought. Glad I went with the Centofante it sure is a good slicer.
How easy is VG-10 to sharpen on Arkensas stones? I have a Course (which is why my friend and I went to the shop in the first place) a medium and soft. Plus a EZ-Lap M series diamond hone. Mostly my knives are carbon steel, AUS-6, AUS-8 and BG-42. My BG-42 blades I hone every few weeks to make sure they never loose an edge cause once they do I find it a pain to put a new one on. Actually I try to keep all my knives from going dull.
By the way, this is my second Spyderco knife. I also have a dragonfly I carry to work as a box cutter. Does a great job. My coworkers love having me open boxes and packages cause they know I always have a sharp knife. And somedays they ask for me to use my little black one (dragonfly) because they know it eats boxes really well.
Thanks a bunch,
Heber
