Was looking for my first Hinderer

Hi Folks.
Was at the local gun show today and stopped by to visit my buddy Andrew from Knife Envy. He was looking a little worse for wear after a bout with some grub that didn't settle well with him. I stuck around to help him out as he was extremely busy selling his knives.
Somewhere along the way I asked him if he had any Hinderer knives that I could coon finger as I have been thinking I need to get one.
He says that somewhere under the table in one of the totes there were 2 Hinderer knives. So , as I am digging around under the tables I hear Andrew say "there's the man himself".
Imagine my surprise as I am being introduced to Rick Hinderer as I was searching for a couple of his knives. Great guy and really down to earth. He just happened to have a Hinderer knife in his pocket(go figure)and let us have a peek at it. It was a sweet Monkey Edge Jurassic Gear edition. Really a neat collaboration. After a bit of wheeling dealing I ended up with it and Rick took the time to take a picture with me. So , not only did I get my first Hinderer , I got it from the pocket of as my buddy says "the man himself".
Awesome day!

That is super cool! Thanks for sharing the story and pics of your new prize!

Cool story, thanks for sharing. Sweet looking blade too. If it’s not perfect, you can always blame the original owner!

That's a badass Jurassic! I love the work on the lock side. I'm really surprised he sold you his own knife, haha.

Never heard of this edition before, do the meshing gears on the presentation side and on the clip actually turn?

Great story ! Never eat the food at a gun show .
Actually, he was sick for a couple days before the show. Had his tables booked and was trying to suffer through rather than stay home. He was getting better as the day went on and I think the gun show pizza and veggie soup seemed to be getting him back up to pace! Who woulda thought gun show food could aid in recovery....lol

Ya know, now that I think on it , he probably has a few others to replace it. But I think it was me being at the right place at the right time. He and Andrew from Knife Envy have had many past dealings so he basically scored it for me. Both great guys and made for a very nice unexpected day at the show.

But did you get the all important box and peanuts? :)
Congratulations on your score-great story and experience.

Thanks. It was fun for sure.
No box but I have a feeling I might end up with it eventually. But I guess it wont matter too much either way. The wife , who is not a knife fan at all wont put it down. Looks like it may have to end up her first daily carry.
