Waseon assist w/2 SAR ops

I have a question to add.

How do you guys carry your large knives, are they just in a sheath on your belt or do you have them stowed some other way that is more sheeple friendly?

Thanks for sharing the with us, it's nice to see these knives get used.

You do realize that you have made Bravado's ignore list because of this thread?

Didn't get any other pics of the missions, but as requested, here're some of the knives involved:

(Dunner will have to post his own pics - )

... doesn't have quite that much finish left on the blade anymore :o .

It may be that I'm somewhat guilty of a certain indifference toward the tender
sensibilities of some sheeple...

My knife rides low on my thigh, secure in a drop sheath, in plain view of all-and-sundry  !

Should that cause some to wring their hands and wave damp hankies about, well;
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!

(Oops; Outside voice :o ?!!)

Umm, other questions?

Nice! Thanks for posting all these pics 8 :D. Another nice day in the woods but this time with a little work to do. I never have a camera handy it seems :o. Having such serious steel on your hip does really seem to add to our field credentials. Or maybe people are just afraid of us LOL. Good times as alwayssss

Uhm, what's the tag that hangs from your handle?

Thanks for the info.

It looks like there is enough gear riding with your knife that it looks more like a utility kit than just a knife sheath, if there are people that can't deal with that then screw 'em, they shouldn't be out in the wild, and in need of help from good folks such as yourself.

I'm sure all of the other emergency response people are just fine with someone having proper tools at their disposal when needed.

Thanks for sharing with us, it's good to see that some of these knives are not doomed to suffer from the humiliation of life as a safe queen.

It's funny about how political correctness and regs on blades could make their way into volunteer SAR organizations. I guess we have become familiar with this control freak problem in the military. It's all about appearances which drives me nuts. There was a SAR team closer to me that is active but they have so many arbitrary rules and some weren't blade friendly. You could carry an axe and or a machete but no knife over 7 inches or something. There was a lot of other rules to lard up your pack and all that too. I found my home with Wind River though. It's a great but tiny organization focused on backcountry searches that River 8 and Mrs. River 8 (River 7) have established over the years through their hard work.

I'll be there with a table full of Wauseon knifey goodness for sale and fondle. Hogs Rats and Dogs.

:D :D

Oh you gotta be kiddin me... And I'm gonna miss it? I'm gonna have to send money with a team member and have them pick somethin up!!!
