Hey guys just finished up this order and I wanted to share some pics.
Some of you may remember the hybird fighter I posted a while, this is basically a wakizashi size version of that.
The blade is hand rubbed 3V and oal is about 23". It has a titanium guard, and a hammered copper spacer and menuki.

SO nice, Ben, but for me it's a traditional blade.
You need to make a cutlass, buddy.

Rolf, I have put you on "IGNORE"....you need to get back on your meds.

Ben, it looks great, I would just recommend a slightly wider/longer guard.....helps protect the hand during vigorous thrusts.:D

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Nice and tight work Ben...

You made that Harpoon style work on that blade.

Agreed with the thoughts on the guard. Otherwise, that looks to be about one of the nicest close-quarters pieces this side of a Waki or a Gladius!
Like the fuller treatment on the sides, and the pseudo one on top!

Any chance you'll have something like that at the OKCA Show if you plan on attending?

Beautiful work as always Ben but for heaven's sake take a day off once in a while. :D

Now, now, STeven!
I love Ben's work.
The cutlass will be the next rage. Trust me.

Agreed.

Looks like a tanto guard on a wak. However, perhaps that was the intent of the maker or buyer..?

Thanks for the input guys. Your correct it is a more tanto size guard, but that is what I prefer and so far all of my customers too.
I like the feel and smaller footprint of the small guard. I might try a larger one eventually.

Thanks man. No rest for me though, I have mouths to feed......

Thanks Rolf, I think I'll leave the cutlasses to Stuart though. :D

One of my favorites I've seen from you Ben.
Cute youngsters........that medium sized one looks mischievous!
Darcy:)

So fullers are designed to make it easier for the stabber to recover his/her blade after thrusting it into/through the stabbee, yeah? If so, yikes you're contemplating one seriously deep incision with that thing :eek::eek:
