Wasteland short sword

I approve. 4140 is an interesting steel choice, not often used for blades. I use it on my tomahawks. Very tough stuff. Given the katanas out there made of 1045, I'd favor the 4140 over that.

And the burlap Mycarta fits in well with it.

Thanks ! I have admired you blades for quite some time now ! I like your style its my taste to the T.

Nice blade but I wouldn't want a 9" 2 handed handle on an 18" blade.

Its more of a multi grip handle . If you shift your hand forward or backwards, it changes the balance point .depends what you want to use it for . Thanks for looking !

My wife, newborn daughter and I all need one of these in our living room!
So that makes three total. It's so nice and well thought out I could honestly see myself with one of these..
Any ideas on pricing if you ever made another similar blade if you don't mind me asking?

I don't have knife maker status here yet, so I can't really discuss pricing. I will be making some more, possibly out of 1084 . I'll be getting a paid knife makers membership here soon , so once I do I'll see if anyone is interested in one. But I am a full time construction worker , so I can only do maybe one or two here and there when time allows .. But thanks for looking and showing interest !!

Looks completely functional and sensible steel choice.

The design reminds me a Kodiak Survival Sword made by Omnivore Bladeworks. Looks great.

Well done mate.

Thanks ! The design was influenced by a production Bowie knife and then upscale to a sword. I guess it does kinda look like the kodiak in a way .... I think the next one will be in 1/4" 1084 or 5160

Looks good, mate! Always have been partial to a long blade like that.

This is a pic of it before the the heat treat. Handle was already finished at this time. I couldn't wait until it was done before I put the handle on it...lol
