Watch suggestions $450-$550 range

For less than $500, Seiko has some nice choices. I am partial to the Monster Dover for $200 or so. I have owned a few Citizens in that price range, but they haven't always been as well built as I would like. Tissot makes some nice watches from $300-$500. I have an automatic Traser in steel that I really like, too. It retails right at $500.

Have you looked at Lum Tec? The Combat B14 doesn't come with a metal band, but they do sell them. I own a 500M and B2H Combat and love them both. Plus their staff has always been great with anything I've needed.

Well after all the advise, some more searching, and a couple of other purchases including a DSLR camera, I finally bought a watch. I kind of went over my budget, but I am happy with what I got.

The $775 MSRP was more than I was willing to pay, but I found one on sale that made it reasonable so I put a deposit on it 3 weeks ago and paid it off and picked it up yesterday. Its a bit overcast here right now so it took a few tries to get a strong enough radio signal to set the time from, but I finally got it and she is off and rocking the new time. Thanks for all the input I got.
