Watch suggestions?

Gshocks are nice, especially the solar powered ones that automatically hack with the Navy Clock in Colorado. We got a new timeclock at work that hacks with the same signal. When I wear my G, I'm synched within hundredths of a second. No excuse for being late for work! :)

I'm also a big fan of the Seiko orange monster. What a great watch. Mine keeps surprisingly good time for an auto. I wear it on a five row Watchadoo bracelet, very comfy. And awesome lume. Once I got my first scratch on the bezel I stopped with the kid glove treatment. Now I wear my Monster without fear. It holds up to some serious banging around. If I ever hear a rumor of this watch getting discontinued, I'm going to buy at least two spares. It's probably the only watch I've ever owned that I'm totally satisfied with. Every other watch that's passed thru my hands had something that I wished was different. Some little nit-picky issue that I would have changed if I would have been on the design team. Not so with the monster. I wouldn't change a thing. Seiko smacked this model outta the park. :D

Invictas for my money. Everything from quartz to automatic movements and many in your range. Swear by Casio G-Shock also. Go to ShopNBC for best prices.

I have 2 G-shocks that are solar recharged, they get plenty of daylight but both need new batteries, I'll never get another solar one!!!!

I got this Swiss Army Watch about 7 years ago, wear it every day. Still works fine. It cost me about 80 dollars back then. It’s simple and functional.

I like anything by Fossil durable classy watches stainless or leather bands. All range from 60 to 200 bucks depending on what gimmicks you like.

Not really. Nobody who knows anything about watches will take you seriously if you are wearing a fossil watch. They are good for 14 year old boys, but not much else.

I've been wearing a Casio G-SHOCK model MT-G solar powered atomic clock model that updates the time from the atomic clock in Denver every night.

It's showing a lot of wear fom using it everday at a chemical factory but it's the best timepiece that I have ever owned.

If someone won't take me seriously for the kind of watch I wear they can take a hike. I don't put someone down for using a Frost cutlery knife. We all have our passions some more then others and we fund that passion accordingly. I'm not some high end operator so the SEAL watch ain't for me, nor a high powered businessman who wears a fancy suit so the watch has no status meaning for me.

Just a simple bartender and occasional student a Fossil and a pair Nikes work just fine. The watch itself keeps accurate time and I get plenty of compliments on it. So the watch snobs thumbs there noses at me fine I'm gonna go sharpen my Sebenza :D.

Wow. So what are you wearing? A Breguet? Patek? JLC? With that condescending attitude it has to be something fantastic.

Fossils are good entry level quartz watches, but at the end of the day, you could possibly find a better watch with more 'value' for your dollar. A Seiko 5 is a good example of this. But if you like the watch you wear, no one should judge you on how you spend your money. I've seen head chefs in restaurants that I've worked at that wore Fossils, so I guess it's not just 14 year old boys. People that find more value in investing their money in other things such as homes, cars, or knives probably find it ridiculous to wear $10K+ on their wrist.

Because I disagreed with the poster and said that they aren't classy, I must wear a top-end luxury watch to back up that claim? So if I don't drive a Ferrari, I can't say that a Geo Metro is a crappy car?

Pot calling the kettle black.

I believe if you're condescending enough to say that someones choice in a watch is so beneath you that only 14 year old boys wear them, then yes, you must be wearing something 'classy'.

So what are you wearing? Audemars-Piguet? A. Lange & Sohne? Panerai?
Or just a Seiko.

G-shock GWM56001CR I have one and love it. Shock and water resistant, solar powered, atomic, auto illuminate, World time with 23 time zones and 48 cities, countdown timer, stop watch, three alarms one with snooze. I think I'm forgetting a few features.

I got a Casio Pathfinder on close-out at Sams Club a couple of weeks ago for 99 bucks.

I wasn't really planning to buy a watch, but this just jumped out at me, real pretty lookin.

Got a compass, altimeter, and temperature. It's solar powered but not atomic time synced. Nice, comfortable rubber type band, too.

Alls I care really, is for it to tell the time, but all the other stuff is pretty cool. I highly recommend it!

I got a few Timexs, Luminox, Citizen Diver, and a Invicta, but the one I have been wearing everyday is the G Shock DW-6900. You just know it will go to hell and back.
