Does any one out there offer this service to the general public. I make about 20-25 blades per year and would like to explore this avenue.

Thank in advance

I have had some cut by RCI Waterjets in Mississauga, Ontario Canada but it is rather expensive for small quantities. The setup charge is in the neighbourhood of $100 then the cutting time is added on.

The precision and lack of hardening of the edges however is excellent. Tolerances are in the order of .005".

There is an outfit called MicroJet in Monroe, Washington that does parts for the public. The address and phone are available on Yahoo yellow pages.

I have a bid request into them now, and will post another note here after the bid/work is done.

Try LMS Stampings. ph.(610)866-1433 or e mail:lms@brey-krause.com Ask for Bill and tell him the "credit card knife guy " sent ya. They`ll work with you and know a thing or two about knives. Their work is very nice and I thought their prices were reasonable too. BTW they can also provide Starret steels for a good price. Marcus

since, you only make 20- 25 knives a year maybe you should buy an inexpensive metal cutting bandsaw. i have a woodworkind bandsaw, and me and my dad are converting in to a metal cutting bandsaw. the hole deal may cost you $800.

you can convert it buying a speed reducer, they can be found in an industrial supply co. and you need the correct set of pulleys to accomidate. also buy yourself a bi-metal bandsaw blade with 14- 18 tpi.

I heard back from MicroJet today. To have 250 small, very simple parts made was just under $5.00 each. Way beyond my interest range.
