:thumbup:I second the heat tape- you can buy it in rolls and solder the connections yourself. Highest heat it would ever reach is 85F(no melted PVC) and all you need if 40F.
I miss our cistern at the farm- we ran it to the bathroom and could be used for batchs or flushing toilets. Jugs of water were for drinking & still had the old springhouse. I am thinking of building a cistern at my house for "grey" water use.

I also have one spring tapped. It runs to a 450 gallon livestock tank but you can turn a separate tap to fill jugs:thumbup:

Yay down to 3 last night and I had water this AM:thumbup: The fan, straw bales and extra heat did the trick!
