Well I recently picked up a relatively inexpensive wind suit or warmup or what ever you like to call them for fall bike commuting. inexpensive by cycling standards anyways. The pants look and feel good and water resistant, but the jacket isn't so much... Though its supposed to block the wind good.

Anyways, I've always had good results using camp dry on my ball caps, but I'm curious what all else is out there thats comparable? Anything thats a higher silicone content? My major factors of concern would be ease of application an restistance to wash-out and wear-off since these garments will likely remain in-pack until the weather dictates (cold/wet).

I know this could fall under G&G, but based on experience, I think I may get more helpful responses here

Bringing this back to top. I've been having a helluva time finding the big can of Camp Dry and I haven't any experience with anything else.

I use Camp-Dry or Herman Survivor Waterproofer found in the shoe section of Wal-Mart. Nikwax can be found in most sporting good stores. Nice stuff if you can find it, but the w/p sprays mentioned usually do it for me.

Try NikWax - it's a wash-in treatment that renews (or establishes) a DWR finish (Durable Water Repellant) - throw it in the washing machine along with the garment.

Some of these treatments, you might as well buy proper gear in the first place due to cost. Most treatments dont last long at all and I have tried dozens.
