I also received a Wave from Mercata this past Thursday. The first thing I noticed was that it was almost too tight to open for using the pliers. Even with the tool being that tight, both blades had significant play in them. ( poor liner-lock alignment )
I used the serrated blade at work to cut the tops off about 20 large cardboard boxes.
Result: The serrated blade has even more play than before, and was dulled considerably!
I'll be sending mine back to Leatherman, and stick with a Spyderco for any unruly boxes!
