Wave feature, have you ever been cut by it?

almost all my folders have waves. never an issue. Its an incredible feature that aids in drawing speed.

I cut myself with an Emerson. It was the break in. I opened and closed it so many times that I broke my concentration and shut it on my finger.

No, but I dont carry a waved knife anymore.

To me a wave is like some sort of gun that takes the safety off when you un-holster it. Great if you come out shooting every time, but I don't.

They are a neat feature that a lot of guys really enjoy. I just don't.

As for cutting yourself....they certainly offer that potential. Unlike a fixed blade, the blade is not ALWAYS exposed when you pull a waved knife out, but if you don't treat it as such, you may eventually get a surprise.

Yep.

For a while I was EDCing an Emerson Super Kerambit in my front right pocket so I could wave it in the reverse grip. The knife somehow worked itself open and when I reached in for some coins, I stabbed my pinkey pretty good.

I figured it was a freak accident, so I didn't change the way I carried. Not long after, however, it happened again. Only THIS time I attempted to wave it (while it was already open) and ripped a huge gash in my pants and underwear! Luckily only cloth was damaged. Came very close to self-castration!

After that I only carried waved blades with the spine against the seam of the pocket.

I've never cut myself with one because of the wave. I did once wave an Emerson Commander into a wall behind me...That one left me feeling stupid.

yep nicked my index finger last week, with a Kershaw Emerson. I waved it open and it didn't fully open as I wrapped my fingers around the handle it got me... For me its hit or miss getting it to open if I think about waving it will work. If I just grab my knife it doesn't guess I just need more practice.
