Wave or no Wave?

Waves are fun and cool! And they make for decent bottle openers. But I don't own a waved knife (my friends do) and I don't see a need for one. It comes right down to you, really. People claim it is good for self defense but others claim that it creates an over-reliance on something that is dependent on the way you draw the knife. In the very least, it is a fun and useful addition but by no means a necessity.

I can't believe all of you people have given him such bad advice.

The correct option, clearly, is to buy one of each! And get a pair of Endura's while you're at it.

Sounds like a plan to me

With the waved knife, you have the option of whether or not to use the wave. With the unwaved knife, you do not. Granted, with a zip-tie or dremmel, you can make a waved knife out of the unwaved knife, but on the waved one, Spyderco has done all the work for you, and they got it right! Plus, Spyderco pays Ernest Emerson royalties and properly credits him!

I say get the waved knife! You'll have a bottle opener as well as a blade you can quickly, reliably open if the SHTF!

I picked up a delica wave a few weeks ago, its been carried every day and has been working very well. The wave will not tear up your pocket like you think the blade is just to light and the wave hook is very smooth. It takes so little effort to wave this knife if you get it you will most likely laugh the first time you do it, I did.

Well.... I hope i made the right decision... just ordered a Delica Wave from Knifeworks (great price... i live in Louisiana so it was a no-brainer)

Now I have that great feeling of anticipating a Spydie in the mail!!! :D

I got the waved Endura, and I love it.
My uses are utility, and whenever I bring it out, I intend to use it. So might as well have it all done in one motion instead of two.
If you can, head to a brick and mortar knife shop, and try it out first. I find that the Waved Delica doesn't quite suite me as well, despite the fact that I don't find the extended length to be that necessary.

Hey folder dude.I like that name, it's like your at a party and showing of your folder when some long haired guy says in a drunkin slur "hey your the folder dude"!! cool man!!
Any how I would suggest the delica in full flat ground fg g-10,nice peice indeed.

I prefer the standard Delica and I don’t like the wave function. It doesn’t always work as intended. I do own a waved Endura that I like very much, but changed the clip to tip up and open it as a any other Spyderco.

If you can't afford both right now, get the standard Delica now. I'm sure you will like it. You should try the waved version before you decide to buy it.
