Sambo , I liked your review lots . My pre 2004 wave , ant the three that I gifted all performed yoeman service . AFIK , all are still in service , one sees heavy daily use .
I prefer the original pre 04 version ( the model you have ) . I don't care for the new driver system , basically lots of small easily lost , not readily replaceable bits . I had the same driver on a Skeletool first jam , then crack . For bit driving , I use the Old Skool Universal Tool Adaptor and 1/4 hex bits ( great advantage of huge variety /relaceability at any hardware store , can also be used in cordless drills and screwdrivers . )
I made a couple of mods on my Wave , one driver was ground into an awl , another was made into a chisel/scraper .
If I run across a NITB pre 04 wave I will score it .
Where we differ : I much prefer Vic. scissors , always felt Leatherman's were crude . For me the most used tool was the serrated blade -mostly for cutting fibreglass banding tape . The file was a God send on a number of occaisons . I'm an avid tho not too competent Fly fisherman , and used the diamonds a lot fot touching up hooks .
