Sorry if this question has been asked before , but I cant find the specs on what metal the wave knife blade is . Is it 440C ? Thanks . :)
 
While we're on the subject of the Wave and its steel - is it just me or does that knife blade really not hold an edge very well? I've never really noticed my other Leatherman models getting dull so quickly, but I recently picked up a new model wave and I have to say that it does not seem to hold an edge whatsoever. Not sure about the serrated blade as I've only messed with the plain blade.
 
The one thing I did notice jtb, is that the one I checked out a couple days ago wasnt very sharp . Which did seem a lil odd for LM . I didnt buy it and am not sure if I will .
 
travis55 - Mine wasn't too sharp out of the package either but I put a nice razor edge on it shortly after it made it through the door. It sure didn't last though. I have to re-sharpen it every single night if I use it the slightest little bit at work. Bummer huh?!
 
Mine isn't very sharp either, but it cuts like hell due to the micro-serrations that are on it from the factory sharpening process. Haven't felt the need to sharpen it yet, as I don't use it often, so I'm not really in the position to judge on the edge holding it has. But I don't expect much of it.
