Waved Endura?

I just recieved mine today as well. I'm very pleased with it. I've never had a waved knife before and it's quite fun. My Dad, who is training to become a Police Officer, wants a waved knife now after seeing mine in action.

Got mine today - it surely is a funny looking blade, IMO, but a lovable knife indeed. The notched thumb rest is great and the wave feature works quite well. Only thing I would change is to opt for a black clip and clip screw for a lower profile look. Cool knife.

I just got mine and, never having tried a waved knife before but reading about how it's supposed to work, I scared myself! Wow. This is faster than an automatic by far. And the sound...Twack and then there is a large open knife when there was just an instant ago only a hand.
Sorry, this is all brand new to me (obvious, I'd guess).
Way COOL!

They still had a couple hundred left when I talked with them the other day. I think with only 500 made they'll certainly sell all of them even with little advertisement.

I can't see why there wont be more made. This is awsome. With the way they are selling, -why- wouldn't there be more? I'd hate to think that someday, after I've caried this wonder around with me for years, and it is scratched and dinged, that it becomes the $300.00 Ebay knife. I'm absolutly --not-- going to put it in a safe, I'm going to carry this freakin knife forever, but, someday it will wear out. Probably when I'm 90. (Maybe a bit sooner since I cant seem to stop pulling it out of my pocket) Hmm, I'm gonna need some more bluejeans soon.
Sal, Sir, why wouldn't there be more waved Enduras? Or other waved collaborations? These things Rock!

This knife also has more going for it than just being a waved Endura - which, by itself is enough.

The grind of the blade results in a more substantial tip than the regular Endura. It should be a lot less prone to tip breakage than the finer, thinner point on the regular model.

The fine "non-sharpened serrations" (Spyderco terminology :) ) on the spine behind the opening hole (a feature not found on the regular model) will help with a secure grip.

Finally, the bead-blasted clip with the black bug is another unique feature.

Spyderco didn't just add the "Wave", they basically came up with another new model based on the Endura handle in the way they did with the Matriarch, Spyderhawk and Pacific Salt.

We made 500 pieces for a particular customer. It was also somewhat of a test for the concept. The exclusive to the customer also reward the customer for trying the test piece.

We've had many requests from customers worldwide for a "regular" version. Ernest Emerson has no objections. we'll evaluate the possibility.

Sal, it sounds like the test went well. This gives hope.
Is there a drawback to doing this (more waved and un-waved Enduras of this blade style {or others}) that you would feel OK to share?
Thank you,

Mr. Glesser,
I own one of these beauties, and love it. I just have a question regarding the handle color. SDG (where I purchased it) lists it as "grey". My FRN Goddard (sprint run) is also listed as "grey" by your company, however the color of the FRN handles are very different. The Endura-Wave's handle looks darker and has a more blue-ish appearance to it. I love the color of this handle! What is Spyderco's official color for the FRN handle of the "Endura-Wave"?

Thank you,

Just wanted to join the crowd in praising this design. I've been a fan of the "wave" since I first saw it, but I just don't care for the style of Emerson knives. (I have owned two Commanders.) The Endura is not my favorite Spyderco, but it's a design I am quite satisfied with and the waved version is awesome.

After experimenting a bit I am carrying mine clipped to the front of my left pocket for a reverse draw. (I carry an Aftermath on my right side.) I don't really need a left-hand blade, but I have been finding it handy and it certainly is cool.

I would love to see more of these produced! If there are any still available I will buy a second when my next paycheck comes in. And I have two friends who are hoping to get the money together before this batch runs out.

The next Spyderco I want to see waved is the Chinook! Although I'd be happy enough with a Manix too.

Thanks to everyone who made this happen!
