Waved opening in NYC

Hi K,

I'm extremely cynical of police attitudes about knives. I don't live in NYC, but from what I've read about what's going on there, they seem to have a similar attitude as the cops where I live. Here's my take:
If they see a knife they steal it. Doesn't much matter what it is. So, if you carry a Wave in your pocket and they see the clip, you'll lose it, maybe worse.
That's why I always carry IWB, concealed.
If you're not doing anything that would legally allow the cops to frisk you, you won't have a problem.

So, are Montreal cops being dicks over knives these days?
I've never been there, but I KNOW cops in Windsor, London, Chatham, and other cities have seen my knives and haven't bugged me, and I'm 31 with long hair and some tattoos.
BUT, things MAY be about to change for the worse; my buddy who went through the Police Foundations course said he would consider the E4W as a weapon because of the shape of the HANDLE!!! WTF? What dicketry are they indoctrinating the next generation of cops with?
Truly sad to see the pussification of society in action.:barf::thumbdn:

No, you don't know what's going on in NYC. This isn't some story about crooked cops stealing your property. It's a new interpretation of city laws that allow the police to consider knives formerly legal as now being over the line.

New York City always insisted on carrying knives concealed. Now concealed means completely concealed - no visible clips allowed either.

People caught up in this new interpretation are being arrested and the knives confiscated. No one is stealing them; they are being entered in evidence.

Cynicism can lead you to think you can work around the law. This is inadvisable.
