Waveless 8's

Would any of you guys be interested in a small run of waveless 8's?

Yes, absolutely. I'll buy two.

Funny you post this now, a couple of weeks ago I said that I wouldn't be buying any Emersons this year, unless I come across a waveless '8.

I can't think of a better general use design than the CQC-8.

Is there any chance we'll ever see a CQC-8 like the originals, with the super contoured G10 and waveless chisel ground blade?

I actually purchased an 8 and then sent it back to have the "wave" taken off back in 2008. I absolutely love it. The machining of the de-waving is extremely clean. I was told that Mr. Emerson did the work himself. I like the fact that the knife can be pulled from the pocket or from an appendix IWB position and the blade remains fully bedded until it is manipulated open. My primary defensive blade that I carry daily is my Combat Karambit as IMHO, there isn't a better option for this. If I'm not carrying my La Griffe as a secondary layer, I carry my waveless 8....and I if I draw this blade, it won't be to draw cut my way out of a situation.

My Karambit is a true defense tool that I never go without....while I don't wear my waveless 8 daily, I absolutely love her.....looking at it gives me knife envy......and I own it! Sounds weird but I'm sure a few of you can understand.

Yes on the de-waved 8 and double Yes on the 11. I would like to see all the EKI knives available with or without the Wave, to give people the choice. Never understood why the 11 was discontinued. One of the finest designs from EE ever!

De-waved my Horseman. Just about to get an 8 but Now I'll wait for the waveless run.
It's got my vote.

I sold a Blackhawk marked CQC11 a long time ago. I kind of wish I didn't. I'd love to see an 11 out again.

Never tried an 8 myself.

That's so sad

It's one of the best folder designs out there. I read that it was designed by Chris Caracci (designer of Benchmade's AFCK) and Emerson and is based on the Echanis/Wanner/Taylor Warrior fixed blade, it actually feels just like the Benchmade AFCK in the hand and when extended the point sits about exactly where the tip of the warrior fixed blade does. It's hard to explain, but if you had all 3 knives in front of you it's easy to see.

The gently curved blade is perfect for just about everything, and the clip point makes for a very strong and well supported tip. The blade fits perfectly into the handle, and it takes up little space in your pocket. The handle is extremely secure, thanks to the deep handguard, and the handle doesn't limit the hand to any grip in particular so it's great no matter how it's picked up.

I'm so glad they're doing a waveless version, the wave doesn't work very well on the CQC-8 because it is so close to the deep handguard that the handguard gets as caught on the pocket as the wave does. Not only that, removing the wave leaves little doubt as to the knife's legality in some places where everything, that doesn't open more traditionally, is considered a "switchblade".

ive also never owned an 8 (pretty new to the Emerson knives, but have picked up 3 in the past couple months), but its high on my "next knife" list and would LOVE a waveless version....in fact i would hold out on picking one up if a waveless model were an option.

You just persuaded me to try out an 8! I'll have to wait and see if this waveless 8 will come true!
