Waving Ritter M2 Dilemma

Wave it. In a few years, you will probably sell it for the same price if it wasn't waved. It's not going to be a collectors piece. And in a few years, who cares what you sell it for. You will have enjoyed the knife thoroughly by then.
 
You might want to think about how a wave would prevent you from getting the knife out of your pocket, it's designed as a survival knife. For instance:

What if you get in an auto wreck and need to cut the seatbelt while the car is upside down and leaking gas? You've got it in a pocket and the belt is pressing on it because you're inverted and you can't slide it out because of the wave catching on your pocket.

What if you have an accident while hiking and fall into a ravine where again you need to cut something, say clothes, to help you get out but the pocket with the knife is pinned.

I know where you are coming from erdvark, but those are some far-fetched situations.
