wax on handles

Dumb Question of the day. How do you get wax off the handle blanks?
Most of the ones I buy are just a little on the small side anyway and by the time I sand of the wax they are to small

TJ, I'm afraid there is not an easy way to do it that won't give you the same result. If the handle material is so small that sanding the wax off makes it too small, then it was just too small to begin with. Even if you clean the wax off with a solvent, you will still need to sand the surface. I wish there were a better answer.

You might try covering the handle with several layers of newspaper and running a hot clothes iron over it.

Ok thanks guys thats what I was afraid of. A 4.5 x1.5 is just barley enough to work with especially if you want to get fancy.Back to board feet I guess.
