Wax on or Wax off

Now that i have the sewing machine home i have started to clean it a bit. and one thing i have noticed is that it is still set up to run waxed thread. should i remove the wax set up, do i need it any more with todays threads?

You will still run it using a liquid wax. Although you will not have to heat the wax pots. You want to keep it all together... Don't go choppin' that thing up!
