WAY OFF TOPIC - Some New Art

How do you conjure up those images mate ? Serious use of your imagination! A bit beyond me ... but I would'nt be suprised in years to come if these were very collectable.

On the way from where I live going into Manchester you pass a statue of Lowry sitting on a bench outside a shop ... "Mottram Bank" is where the statue is and where he would sit and sketch after his work collecting rents ... apparently he gifted a lot of his sketches he was'nt happy with to some of the tennants he collected from ... he would sketch on anything from a napkin to an envelope ... there are rumoured to be ex tennants of his around the Pendlebury area who after the War were looking at a "poor" old age ... and who went on to sell their sketches and retire comfortably.

So if I ever buy a knife off you Rob ... wrap it up in some sketches you don't like  :D

Thank you Peter! Interesting story too.

As far as conjuring this stuff up, well, it's difficult to describe. It's mainly done from within. They are projections of the psyche if you will. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. My best work is almost always done in the period of the lead up to, and during a migraine headache. It's funny, when I've painted the piece, I hate it. I think it's amateurish and should be thrown in the bin. But I often, not always, leave it and show others. The reactions are always the same amazed looks and comments.

very nice my friend, and it is inspiring for me to do some work again.
