I thought it might be fun to compile a thread full of all the ways that we can make a fire. Let's see just how many we can come up with in this thread. If you have pictures or a tutorial regarding your method, even better.

I will start.

Flint and steel

I made a video about the KSF Firewallet and in it I demonstrate how to make a fire using flint, steel and kindling.

Who's next?

This one was started with a mag rod.

But I've been known to use misch metal rods too.

There's always the bow-drill.

Sometimes even us newbies can pull it off:D:

Big Mike, I knew you would show up in this one.

I'm big into friction fires, and I developed a method called the Lazyman Firedrill. My friends ask why I don't use a lighter, I guess I just like roughing it.

(Honestly, am I the only one that thought this would be fun to try?)

Ok, I pissed on my thigh a little on this one, not the thought, but the implementation. Physics, you rock out loud. LMAO. Moose

Might not be the best choice but... brake fluid and chlorine. (chlorine for a pool) Just poor some of the powder chlorine where ever, and then pour some brake fluid into the powder.

Makes fire, but don't inhale the smoke. Just something we always do in our fire department for brand new rookies.

And there is...

fire plow
pump fire drill (always a fun one to try)

if you have a vehicle, push in the cigarette lighter on the dash, or get a road flare out of the trunk.

magnifier lens.

Short circuit a battery resulting in heat and/or sparks.

(Note: Potentially Hazardous)

Parabolic lens and sunlight. I wouldn't want to rely on this in a storm though. I personally prefer flint and steel with cotton balls in pj.

Eating a bunch of Jalapeños......Oh I am sorry that just gives you the sensation of fire. How about a Bic lighter, you should carry one with you all the time.
