Hey guys. I just finished a bunch of chopping with my FFBM for a family fire today and it now has some sap on it in several place. What is the easiest way to remove it? Cleaner? Or just old fasioned elbow grease?

Thanks.

I usually put a healthy coat of WD-40 or similar on the blade and let it soak till the next day or whenever I use it again. Sometimes if its managed to harden on the blade and won't muss up the sheath I'll just leave it there till whenever it feels like falling off. Even soaking in oil won't always get it all off, some elbow grease will be required most of the time. The academic in me says that soaking in hot water would be the best way since I think it's just water and sugars.

I pour hot water on it from the kettle to soften it up........then some detergent and a scrub. :)

lick it off...it's organic....that's the trend right. Right from nature.

I used Goo-Be-Gone on my FBM LE. Squirted some on, let it sit about 5 minutes or so, washed it off with warm water and soap. 100% GONE... Worked perfect...

Lacquer thinner will work for sure.

aw, man, y'all are making too much work for yourselves. just use it to make a couple PBJs and the peanut oil will do the trick.
