We all say "gerber sucks" but no one gives examples, this is my reason why.

My experience with Gerber customer service has been very positive. I think they still make some good knives its just that they have some lower end stuff to confuse things a little.

I would have expected that if a replacement was going to be sent .. it would reflect Gerbers standards and QC .. regardless the reason it was sent

maybe , in fact , this is *exactly* what has happened ? an the OP was served a case of care Gerber style ?

I dont buy the arguments of " you sent crap be happy you got slightly better crap in return" .. but then I dont deal with US knife companies a lot either . Maybe it is SOP over there .
 
I've been playing with an Auto 06. QC is great on it. The S30 sharpens easy. Only issue is its a tactical knife.
