Ok, nothing like getting the rules explained after joining. “ hey welcome to you, we have some guidelines etc etc would have been nice”. I have only recently started exploring this ‘world’. So, just to the officious types out there, perhaps a little bit more of a welcoming opening to my somewhat naive question as it ttranspires. (I am a veteran Police Officer of 30 years so I do have quite a thick skin). Is Kiwis are generally a friendly bunch. But any way perhaps I can ask this question? Has anyone heard of the Buck 651 Intruder ‘Pig Sticker’. The little I have gleaned makes fascinating reading especially as it’s so unusual.

Does anyone have any info on this blade? I aquired one of these recently and haven't found too much on it other than it's an odd ball made for someone in New Zealand....(?). The blade is quite large (about 13 inches long) and is very similar to the BlackHawk.

If your skin was as thick as you claim, you would have couched your new post and question without feeling the need to denigrate the moderator who posted the response to your earlier post.

Believe it or not, you are not the first person to have to be advised of the rules...(which you agreed to when you joined the site)...and which are up to you to familiarize yourself with. (You already know that ignorance of the law is no excuse.)

That is why the post that he quoted was pasted as a reply...because we as a group have to repeat it ad nauseum, daily, weekly, yearly...and as we are volunteers, there are only so many hours in a day to do so.

Welcome from a retired U.S. federal law enforcement officer. We appreciate our Kiwi friends, especially when they don't feel the need to tell us how the site should be run. Frank happens to be a great moderator.

Welcome from another prior Fed LEO. This place is an excellent resource and a heck of a lot fun because of the diverse cast of great characters you’ll meet. But like most private places there are rules. Familiarize yourself with them, then jump in and enjoy. I bet you’ll stick around. . .

Edited to add: You’ll find the mods here are tough but more than fair. As a prior LEO yourself I’m sure you can appreciate the tightrope they have to walk when dealing with posters both old and new. . .

I always thought I was at the bottom of the planet until I visited NZ! My Mum and brother live in Wellington.
My favourite coffee shop in Wellington.........Midnight Expresso in Cuba Street.......:)

Not sure I followed your first experiences discussion, but all forums have rules and this one is fairly straightforward.

You ask about one of my favorite knives, the Pig Sticker!

They are hard to find nowadays.

The knife shared the rubberized handle design with a couple other Buck fixed blade hunting knives.

Below are some pictures of my 651, and the last is a 650C.

All I can say is ‘wow’. Absolutely beautiful knife. There is one for sale here in NZ, but nothing like the condition of yours. I just find the back story on these particular knives so interesting as they are so rare. With the box as well, stunning. Pig hunting in New Zealand is popular amongst some hunters, often using dogs to track the pigs. However this beast of a knife would be way too valuable to use now I imagine. Thank you very much for those photos. Knife nirvana!
