I bought a knife here a while back, but the owner wasn't around at the time, and the woman working the counter was very nice but not an expert. So I went back the other day in hopes of meeting the owner, and was rewarded with two hours of quality knife conversation and I got to handle a bunch of stuff. I found Derek to be knowledgeable and fastidious about his inventory, and he seems keen on maintaining good relationships with makers, customers, and even other dealers. The sticker prices reflect the tourism location but he does a range of business. If you're an aficionado (basically anyone on this forum) I suggest making your visit while Derek is tending the shop.
