"We Don't Need No Steenkin QC..."

I found this interesting.. A knife that doesn't work as a knife. Why do they even sell it? Lol

I'll add my personal knife issues in another post later.

That's a stabby stabby knife, not a slicey knife.

For every WE there are 25 Cool Hands.
Quite so. The reason there are not more geniuses in any field is because most are unwilling to put in the effort that is required.

I try to look at it the same way statistics looks at data and imagining the sample population forms a bell curve. The majority of samples are in the middle, and the rare examples or outliers are on the ends of the group with very few examples occurring. There are very few truly great knife makers, and (hopefully) very few who specialize in :poop:. At least that's the theory...

However I am starting to see more and more that:
A. One man's treasure is another man's :poop:
B. Because it is far easier to make :poop:, human nature dictates many will take the path of least resistance.
and
C. A large percentage of the knife buying public can't tell :poop: from Shine-o-la in the first place.

Hell, I look at that bolster from Browning and realize many would still buy the knife if they were told, "That's not a defect. That's a new design Browning came up with. They did years of research and developed that "speed notch" which provides far better slicing performance than any other knife you can buy."
