We got some snow coming

We're having a nice little break with springlike weather here. It's 58° out now and no wind. I can get into this.

Two weeks ago we got 6" with 2' in Durango 30 miles north and Silverton Mountain Ski area 50 miles north of there was shut down with 140" of new snow. They had 40" of new snow the week before that. The town of Silverton was out of power and had no outside access for several days.

Red Mountain Pass was closed all that next week. Wolf Creek Pass was closed for three or four days.

It looks like there will be plenty of water for the Animas and San Juan rivers next summer. We have been way below normal since 1996.

I grew up MA and I like in the spring, summer, and fall up there, but I can do without the winters and the snow. I'm a little to banged up to try to get around in the snow. Besides, if I lived up there and a snow storm was on the way I'd head to Indian George's with a truck load of beer and scotch and we could settle in for the duration. Oh yeah, I better bring a box of crackers in case we get hungry.

Wow, for once (maybe twice) the weather forcasters were right! At 3 PM EST the snow started falling on our little hamlet of West Warwick, RI. Now, if we get as much as predicted, well, whooeee!

My tractor with Jaws attached has a new load of 5-30 W oil and a brandy new battery. That bad boy is ready to go.:D

Until then, I'll just sit around drinkin beer, it's always best to operate that way.:)

Tom: And a little of my relish on the crackers we would be golden.

George, if we opened a jar of your relish it would probably melt all the snow and we wouldn't have an excuse to stay indoors and drink until the big thaw.

Sounds like you guys are prepared to wait out the storm :D The wifes got the crock pot going with chicken breasts and I called out of work so I'm going to relax tonight. We've got about 9" of snow and it has stopped for now but the wind and more snow coming later tonight. I did some grinding earlier and have been watching the PBR and the Sportsmen channel with some good hunting shows. Tomorrow I'll get some more grinding done. Yep snug as a bug in a rug tonight :D this is about all that these storms are good for.

We've got about 8-10" so far, calling for 10-18 by tomorrow noon. So far I finished a sheath I've been avoiding working for a week, and started filing the guard for my Spec Ops knife. Also been playing with my new air pistol. Got a nice little range set up in the shop. Work a little, shoot some, work a little more, shoot some more. Its a little cool, but much better now that I have a little heat register under my work bench!
Plan on working most of tomorrow too! :D
