We have nothing to fear but fear itself

Me too Keith: I think Wyoming lost in population last year, we can always use good people.

Mr.Fowler,
bring those toe tags to NYC, you'll be able to give 'em all out in the first hour or so
I work in an art studio, we are surrounded by razors, X-Actos and Mat Knives...yet my coworkers are amazed that I have a pocketknife

Para well said and it does deserve more recognition than it well get from the "choir".

Just had an occasion the other day during a anniversary celebration at the office using a small slipjoint to open up a shrink wrapped package. Got the "why do you need that weapon" from one of the goofballs I work with. My answer was to ask why this small pocket knife was more dangerous than some of the items on her desk or even the paper cutter blade leaning in the corner of the mail pick-up area.

She actually understood the point.

Thanks for all the kind word guys. I will try to shorten it up a little, and make it a little more 'pithy' so that it will make more sense to those who are not already 'members of the choir'.

Shawn or anyone else, feel free to forward it to anyone you wish. All I ask is that you give me, Brad Hiltbrand aka Paracelsus, the credit for writing it. ;)

Para

Great job, Para. Shorten it, lengthen it, keep it as it is, and send it to various places who might print it, fitting the format to the venue.

Actually, lots of thoughtful writing here by everyone in the "choir!"

Keep at it,

Karl

Paracelsus: Really a good post. You brought up one point which was particularly interesting. The fact that most non knife people look at knives as a tool, when they are using them. When they see someone else with a knife they look at it as a potential weapon and are threatened by its presence.
