Recently, we bought a knife in a local thrift store for $1.98 because it looked to be hand made and apparently made by a skilled knife maker.

It was apparently made from a file because part of the file serrations were left on the top tip of the blade.

I would like to post a photo of it for comments. And, to see if it is as skillfully made as I think it is.

How do I post a photo of the knife please?

Upload you're picture to postimage first then copy the hotlink for forums and paste it here.
The suggestion by njbillk only works if you have a paid membership here otherwise you need to use an image hosting sight.
Postimage is great and extremely simple.

Thank you.

Thank you.
No problem.
FYI I wasn't being helpful , I was really just trying to help myself see pictures of your knife ;);)
Knife people can't help it and will do whatever it takes to see pictures of knives, even if that means having to help others post them :D:D

Easier than all the above if you are working off a computer or lap top - just drag the photo into the thread. Select THUMBNAIL or FULLSIZE IMAGE.

Bang! You've posted a photo. I think (not really certain but it stands to reason) that it may be necessary to first reduce the data of your photo through some photo program to a reasonable size. I find that 120 pixels per inch with a 5" to 6" wide photo works very well.

Oh yeah? Sorry, I wasn't gloating . I didn't know that limitation.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way and didn't know about that feature until you mentioned it.

Without even seeing the knife, I wonder if it has a makers mark? That typically is a pretty good indicator of whether or not it's been made by a 'skilled knife maker'.

I keep coming back to this thread even though it's 95% advice about posting photos, and even though I'm like 97% certain the $1.98 knife will turn out to be just a $1.98 knife . . . and I can't stop!:confused::D

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!

For the OP, I haven't seen your knife but there is a company called Anza that makes knives from files and often leaves the file teeth showing around the blade spine. You may want to look up their products to see if one of them matches your knife.
