We have so much

This is what I think:

On one level this place is nothing more than a captive consumer pool, each reinforcing the other to buy. There really is a 'buy high" it exists and is partially understood by Science.

I've noticed some people who were regulars when I first signed up are rare in their appearence now. This could mean a number of things. Places and people do change. Or they may have moved on to another hobby. Or?

I've collected somewhere around 20 guns for many years now. But that I mean though there is usually 20 guns, they aren't always the same from year to year. Why do I buy so many?

Last summer I sold two guns and got a Mt Bike. Doing research for the Bike I entered several bike forums. Same deal as here; experts. lookie loo's, first time buyers, cyclists that had several bikes...
The same thing with stereo's...

On another level I like this place beyond the consumer cycle. I like Uncle Bill being differnt. I like the experts and kind people show. For some reason, those of us who like khuks seem a different bunch than in other specialty forums and fads.

If there ever was an internet community, a home, this is that place for me.

I also think theres a bit of magic in the air. As if we were brought here for a reason. Take that for what you think it is worth.

Munk, you have a way with words and thoughts. I always enjoy your posts. You summed it up pretty well. Like somebody said, "Come for the khuks, stay for the people" (although I think instead of people he said crazies)

Yesterday I found out that my company is going to try to stay in business. The crazy president who caused so many of the problems was ousted, and a new guy was brought in. He's an ex Marine logistics officer who seems like a straight shooter. At least we have a chance now.

I celebrated when I got home with one drink of 12 year old scotch that I keep for special occasions. As I'm not much of a drinker, one puts me feeling pretty good. Hope I didn't get too goofy in my posts. :footinmou

Seabee, Yes I do have a packrat gene.;)

Mamav, I'm not getting any more drawers. That would be like getting bigger pants, I'd just grow into them.

Nasty, I listened again this morning. Still don't hear anything.:)

Warren, didn't mean to shock you.:D

Have a good day my friends!

If I could have one drink of scotch, I'd have ten thousand. It's a strange world where one guy drowns and another floats. Not only is Khukuri distribution patently unfair, as your drawer after drawer demonstrates, but so goes the Planet.
Why does a good guy lose his job? I'm pleased there is hope yet for the company you work for.

Getting back to khukuri distribution, when I was through looking at drawer number three I thought this has to be the end. After number four, well, this is it. I could not believe there was drawer number five and a wall to boot.

Congratulations, your conspicuous consumption contributes mightily to our Nation. You've made a good investment with 5000 dollars of khuks? Perhaps you intend to arm the neighborhood in time of riot or war? "Ferguson's Raiders".

I showed my small, yes small collection of khukuris to a friend recently. He said, "You know, they're well made, useful, handcrafted in a time of mass production. Yeah," He said. "I can see collecting these."

Let's see if Rusty shows up and catches me enabling someone again...
Thanks for your kind statements regarding my writing. We have a lot of fun here.

Wow, nice collection! That's some nice woodchuckery there.
Is that a Criswell katana on the bottom of your sword rack?
