One We or another. Only one.

Probably the Civivi Exarch CF/damascus. My Deacon is pretty nice too.

This one is just gonna have to find room on my "Short-List"
Is it too early to start another Letter to Santa?

I considered one once but it’s just too “bio-mechanical-sci-fi” for me. I had the Pleroma and sold it, I regret that.
I too considered an Arrakis, big fan of the Dune novels, but ultimately chose a Synergy with the compound tanto. I like Ishams designs, but wanted a more usable knife.
It's just such a gorgeous design and I've been sorely tempted to get it a few times, but I have a hard time justifying the price. I did get the copper handled Plethiros, which feels like something I'll use more, but it just might end up putting off the inevitable longer than actually keeping me from buying an Arrakis. The other thing helping me is that it's not in the top 25 knives that I want to buy right now.

If you’re pondering one of the many creative and artistic Isham designs, whether by WE, CIVIVI or someone else, you might want to secure it sooner than later. After his passing, I wonder if the status of his designs might be in question.

RIP, Elijah.

Good point. Ugh if only I had the monies for everything I want. Welp, time to sell a kidney.

I noticed a lot of models going out of stock or out of stock and discontinued at some US retailers in short order, but it looks like they're still available in other countries where there was less of a run on them. The Arrakis is the one that will likely the be the easiest to get, because the price removes it from what a lot of people can manage as an impulse buy for a knife. I check on them periodically to see if they're still available. It's a loss to us all that we'll never get to see what was to come.

I’m still waiting for one I like. I tried out a Esprit, but didn’t like the thumb stud. I picked up a WE Elementum and the action wasn’t half as good as any of the Civivi Elementums I’ve owned. They stonewashed the blade and didn’t bother protecting the pivot area for some reason. Gritty feeling and sluggish as heck.

I’ve been giving some thought to a Kitefin.

Have you tried the WE Banter. It's a smaller knife like the Elementum and mine has smooth action, but it does have a thumb stud.

I’m not really a G10 fan and typically don’t like linerlocks. I’m contemplating picking up the marbled carbon fiber version though.

I like thumb studs, they just have to be well done. The thumb studs on the Esprit stick out so far that the knife rests on them if you place the knife closed on a table.

There are a few other good choices in range with the Elementum. The Saakshi might be worth trying. I've handled three or four of them and detent strength does vary a bit. A good one is fantastic.

It's also worth noting that lots of production knives leave the factory less good than they could be, whether we are talking WE or Spyderco. Factory edges are never as good as what you can do by hand, and the steel at the edge is often fatigued from the factory grinder. Actions aren't always as clean as they should be. Simply taking a new knife apart, cleaning it up, and properly lubricating it with quality oil will often bring them around.

For the mentally challenged, the topic of the thread is your favorite WE Knife.

I’ve removed 8 off topic posts, any further anti OR pro Chinese political commentary will be dealt with by thread bans and warnings with points.
