We may be running out of excuses for our pictures

I have one of those. In reality the lights are not bright enough alone. I ended up going back to my old system, a bay window and a couple of extra large sheets of white paper to use as light reflectors. I do use the lights though to highlight specific areas, they're a good color of light.

I wish more folks would look into getting a lightbox set up. I sometimes cannot tell whether a knife is badass or not cause the pics are not so great.

I mean, I understand some folks wanting to show off their hard work ASAP but after a while I looked at my pics and figgered out that people cannot really see what I have accomplished when they suck. I myself still need to work on my setup. I think my pics are mediocre at best.

The wife cannot understand why I would sit there and take pic after pic for an hour changing settings till I get it decent. All for a post in a forum!

Too bad I hadn't seen this two weeks ago. I made my own light box using a cardboard box and white trash bags, but my box won't fold up and store away.

Even if the lights on the Harbour Freight set up aren't bright enough, you can buy your own at Lowes at $10 each for the reflector and $8 each for the daylight (6500K) flourescent bulbs.

Good post, thank you.

Logem, go to Wal mart and spend like $4 for some white foam paperbacked posterboard, use 2" masking tape and tape the edges together with enough play to fold the pieces of board.

Will they sell the box without the lights? I bought a HF two headed halogen shop light a few years ago. Worked great for the first couple hours and then the bulbs would burn out. The replacement bulbs would do the samething.

I'd say that at that price it's worth taking a chance on it. So, I ordered one. I'll post some photos of a few knives using this set up for those of you that are on the fence about it, once it comes in.
