We need a AIM chat room for all us Busse nuts!

I've left it up all day and nobody's came to the Busse room.

I thought you guys were interested? :)

Maybe I should look into starting an IRC one for nobody to come into. :)
 
Sorry Jerry for the confusion. Let me try this again.

I started an IRC channel on NEWNet--Same place as the Bladeforums.com IRC channel. #Busse is ours.

Registered it and everything. If anyone wants to show up, it's there. :)

Bladeforums has information for their IRC channel (including a faq) here for those who want to get into IRC.

first you must have an IRC program, like MIRC. then conect to the right server, then the right room. latter today I will hunt the info and put it here, its 2 in the morning give me a break!
 
Download mIRC here--it's an IRC client.

Put in a name and nickname

Tell mIRC to connect to a random NEWNet server, then type in #Busse and hit join.

Fairly simple, really. Then again, I've been playing with mIRC for a long time.
 
Lets make this 2nd grader level instructions.:p

1. Click on the link

2. Install the program



3. click on the link on the desktop that you installed to run the program.


4. Click on the little icon that looks like a folder with a hammer next to it.




5. should see connect, then select the Tell mIRC to connect to a random NEWNet server, and put in your desired nickname


6. select the folder with the #+ in it.


7. click on the add button, then where it says channel type in #Busse


8. select join on connect.



9. click join.


10. celebrate with the guys that you made it.

You sure you were in #Busse on Newnet?

. . . and Alphamani (sans the v) showed up for a second, looked for his v, and left whilst I was paying attention to the forums. If you get in, guys, stay there for a sec so I can get oriented. I'm a wobbly-minded. :)
 
Uh, I dunno if it'l get past the badword filter . . . one way to find out :)

irc.phantomshitter.net:6666 is the server I'm on, but /server irc.newnet.net:6666 should work. Just /join #Busse when you get in there, or follow mschwoeb's directions.

I dunno where they got their server name.
 
Pretty easy to get there, i'm there now. Just make 2 windows and read the instructions as you do them on the other window.

Man the few of us that are there are having fun. swapping pics, telling tales, terrorizing the bladeforums chat room....;)
 
Those #Bladeforums.com folks are indeed odd. :)

Mostly knifemakers, from what I've found. They mostly scoffed at my interest in production and semi-production knives.
 
Sooooo....

I managed to locate the #Busse chat room last night and had a short chat with Zal, Mschwoeb, and someone named Aaron. Discussed some Busse trivia and finally things degenerated into a discussion of Canadian toilets and I had to go...:rolleyes: It seems Zal has a bit of a fetish.:D

In any case, it is possible, even for the technologically obtuse among us, to get there and enjoy it. Yes, you will have to jump through a few hoops but the instructions above are complete enough to get you there and set up. If I can mangage it... everyone can.:rolleyes:
 
I tried and tried but kept getting the "page cannot be displayed" thing from mschwoeb's link.

There isn't a polymer filter on it is there?
