Thanks man. I'm getting the hang of it, but I don't really use many forums. I've just watched YouTube videos for years, so this is a bit of a different format. Just takes a little patience, but I do like the ability to ask specific questions and get specific answers, and that is the type of thing a conversation on a forum is good for.
I tried a wood worker's forum awhile back for making knife handles, and immediately regretted it. One guy was nice, and treated me just like you folks are, and said we all gotta start somewhere. Then, some bitter old man needed to put me in my place. He said that I wasn't following how "things are done". I not only had to list my entire project, but then list my set of tools (like I'm 10). I told him I only had one specific question about finishing the wood, because the other steps I knew, or wasn't doing yet (most of which didn't apply to wood working anyways). I even listed my tools, just to appease him, and dude still insulted me, saying that I am, "putting the cart before the horse", and come back when I am ready to show him pictures of all my steps (pretty weird, when I'm just asking the best way to finish a Walnut hidden tang handle). Anyways, I never went back.
Sorry for the boring story, but is why I immediately clicked on the thread about everyone being a newbie once. Being new isn't the same as stupid, and everyone deserves respect until they find a reason to take it away from themselves. Thanks again.
