Wear Properties of Carbon Fiber Scales?

I'd like to take the next step of pocketing a few gorgeous CF-scaled folders, and just wondered what the wear properties of CF are like. Pardon me if this has come up before and I just fail to find it here and elsewhere.

For this question, let's say that pocketing would be both with and without use of the clip (when not using a clip, I use a lanyard), the pocket also contains a few (3) keys on a keyring, the pockets are those in denim jeans and the knife is carried daily. Let's say that the knife is withdrawn and lightly used (envelopes, cord/rope, cutting foods) ~ 10 times per day. No rough handling or use.

If there is wear, what kind? Can it be remedied partially or fully? How?

Thanks in advance for your experiences!

in my experience it is the same as any similarly milled g-10 or micarta

Carbon fibre is not really prone to wear issues, not in the kind of use that a knife handle would see.

It is much more prone to chipping then anything else.....

^^^ Agreed - I carried a CF Sage regularly for a couple years and never noticed any wear on the scales. So, OP, go ahead and get what you want without worry.

I have a small carbon fiber handled knife (slip joint by Richard Rogers) that has been carried very close to daily for over three years. Still looks great and has held with little or no signs of wear. I really enjoy the toughness and light weight of cf. This particular knife weighs a little less than 1/2 an ounce. This is a shot from when it was new. Today the handle looks the same pretty much,

I am a natural handle material guy when it comes to slipjoints, but like cf so much that I had another pattern made by another friend.

My thought is that if you like what you see in cf covers and the knife suits your needs, you will enjoy it for a long time with little care other than not dropping it or scraping it against hard or rough surfaces. Have fun with your decision.
